Do you want to build a TALC (Trumbull Area Lutheran Coalition) YouthGroup?
St. Paul LC would like to kick it off with a YOUTH DAY: Corn Hole Tournament-Picnic
- Where? St Paul Cassel Hall and Front Lawn—Rain or shine
- When? Sunday, May 6th, before we break for summer
- Who? All youth (13 to 19) and their families
- Time: Worship 12:30, lunch 1:30, Corn hole to follow
Menu Participation: Hotdogs and drinks (St. Paul); Pasta/salads (LLLC); Sides (Grace); Desserts (Faith Parish, Emmanuel, St. Mark)
Jack Groves 19 and Drew Thirion 17 of St. Paul issued this invitation. They want to keep the catechism kids active after confirmation classes end, and build an inter-church youth group that could be hosted the various churches. They are also planning a survey to be circulated to youth and their parents during the cornhole tournament. A summer camping event is a possibility if there is enough interest.
Please text Pastor Ann Marie Winters 330 469-6296 to RSVP

One of the benefits of changing our worship services and times beginning April 8th will be the increase in the number of people available to fill the various leadership roles. I will be devising the schedule each month beginning with the one in this edition of the Post. Generally, we have a workable number of people available for these jobs with a few exceptions. You will note that Mike Roche is the only sound technician. Dave Elonen is not likely to be available on a predictable basis. We have one greeter. The ushers and Theme/Prayer Leaders would both benefit from a couple of additions. Please let Pastor Denise or me know if you will fill any one of the roles on the schedule. One last note: Please let me know by the 15th of the month if you will be unavailable during the next month. Also, if you are scheduled for a task and are unable to be present, please find a replacement. Thank you for volunteering! – Carole Wiley.

Each quilt and kit we donate costs money to ship to its eventual destination far away. Churches are asked to help with these costs. When we send $500 in a lump sum we get an engraved brick set in the plaza outside LWR headquarters in Baltimore. Prince of Peace needs about $100 more for our seventh brick. Mark your donation “LWR Quilt and Kit Fund”. Pictures of our bricks are in the area next to the quilt room.
Noisy offering in March Warren Rescue; April offering will be designated at March meeting.
Do you want to experience and share the love and grace of Jesus? Are you a creative thinker? Do you have ideas and suggestions? Can you be flexible? Are you able to commit to making a few meetings this spring? Do you text? We’re seeking to expand our summer education and enrichment opportunities in the parish, so creativity is welcome. Meeting location and time will be negotiated a week ahead when our chairperson gets her part-time work schedule, so flexibility is a must.
Text “E&E Group” to Pastor Denise 330 282 2843 to get in on the group text to negotiate the meeting place and time.
To renew worship for joy and unity the Parish Worship committee recommended to the Parish councils and the councils agreed to change our worship schedule to one service at POP and one service at SJ starting April 11th. Linda Webb is working on choosing music to blend the best of the contemporary and traditional music for worship at POP and will share the contemporary resources with SJ. When POP is using contemporary songs that SJ may not be using, the worship folder will list another hymn for SJ.
The time of the worship services is not yet set. The worship committee proposes that the schedule flip at least once a year. Because POP does not have air conditioning, the committee proposes 9:00 a.m. at POP and 11:00 a.m. at SJ and then flip these times in September.
At the SJ congregation meeting, there was support for this proposed schedule. At the POP congregation meeting today, there will be time to discuss the proposal over dinner. While we eat our potluck supper, the council members will spread themselves among the tables for discussion. They will ask:
- In the last year we made a few changes to worship, how do feel about worship now?
- Outreach is very important at POP, how do feel about our current outreach?
- Are your spiritual needs being met, is there more that POP can do for your needs?
- How would a 9:00 worship service work for you and for POP

THIS Sunday, February 25 @ 4:30 p.m.
In February we meet to receive the reports of our Pastor, Treasurer, and committee chairs. We will hear the direction the councils are taking in 2018. There will be an opportunity to discuss the life of the church, ask questions and bring up business for the good of the parish. Your congregation’s annual meetings are the most important activity you can do for the church each year. A properly called congregation meeting is the highest authority of our fellowship.
